Nothing looks better than Charity!

Before we left for Sierra Leone we decided that we would spend one day of our trip doing some sort of charity.  When we arrived at our hotel we noticed an elementary school a couple of blocks away.  We decided that feeding the kids to lunch would be the perfect way to give back. With the help of our hotel, and my boo's family we were able to feed 300 beautiful children! It was such a blessing to be able to give back. This definitely was a highlight of the trip.

That Face!!!!

I mean, how other-worldly does Kerry look in these gorgeous photos? It has inspired me to slick my hair back as well! And I must admit whatever you are wearing really pops when there is no hair overpowering the outfit.  Now if I could only figure out how to sculpt those cheekbones with some courageous contouring...Alright, back to fashion: I particularly love the styling of this shoot. Simple hair, high shine pieces mixed with denim and the basic tee(rolled up of course). With this kind of look it is all about the details. Nude nails allow for larger than life cocktail rings for day. Over-sized chandelier earrings work for day when paired with a t-shirt. Spruce up a classic denim shirt by adding collar tips- go western or go bling. And last but not least...A sequin jacket paired with a denim cutoffs epitomizes rocker chic. Be sure to keep the shorts at the right length and not too much fray as it looks as though you're trying to hard.

It 's my birthday!!!!! For this post I decided to reminisce on one of the best parts of my recent trip to Sierra Leone, our trip to Tokeh Beach. Tokeh Beach is the most breathtaking beach I have ever seen. The sand is w.h.i.t.e. and baby powder soft. It is surrounded by lush mountains and the water is warm and a gorgeous aqua blue color. We stayed in a beach hut on Tokeh Sands where the huts are literally on the beach! Sleeping to the sound of the waves was so peaceful. So blessed to have had this amazing experience:-))

Pink and Gold Cup

This past Saturday, I attended the 88th Annual Virginia Gold Cup in support of DC Lawyers for Youth.  This was my third year attending the steeplechase race and I look forward to next year being the fourth.  The fashion at Gold Cup is much like that of a derby.  Ladies and gents dress to impress in their finest springtime duds. You're sure to see lots of impressive headgear, light and bright colors, seersucker and warm weather suits.  Loads of fabulousness all around!  Not being one to be outdone, I pulled together the outfit below and readied myself for a day full of mint juleps, horse races, friendly wagers and all around fun!

P.S. I got the fascinator from a lovely neighborhood gem of a store: Bene Millinery & Bridal Supplies. Please look them up and support! I had such a great experience there. The owner was so sweet and helped me choose the perfect headpiece and they stayed open an extra 15 minutes because I was "on my way" right before they were closing :)
